2021 Chiltern XC League Match 2

Match 2 of the 2021-22 Chiltern XC League took place at Teardrop Lakes in Milton Keynes. Each match of the Chiltern XC League has 10 races for U11 girls, U11 boys, U13 girls, U13 boys, U15 girls, U15 boys, U17/U20 women, senior/vet women, U17 men and U20/senior/vet men.

The Chiltern XC League is divided into two Divisions. As far as Oxfordshire clubs are concerned, Headington Road Runners compete in Division 1 whereas Abingdon AC, Alchester RC, Banbury Harriers, Bicester AC, Oxford City AC, Radley AC and Thame Runners compete in Division 2.

As well as being a Match in the Chiltern XC League, this event also included the 2nd race of the 2021-22 British Athletics Cross Challenge. Those U20 runners of the Cross Challenge ran in the U17 men's race and so they were unable to compete for their club in the U20/senior/vet men's race of the Chiltern League.

The above image is taken from this document on the organiser's website. The U17/U20 women's race consisted of two laps: a small lap (ABC) followed by a large lap (ABCDEDFC). The Senior/Vet women's race consisted of two laps: a medium lap (ABCDFC) followed by a large lap (ABCDEDFC). The race for the U17 men of the Chiltern League and the U20 Men of the Cross Challenge consisted of two laps: a medium lap (ABCDFC) followed by a large lap (ABCDEDFC). The U20/Senior/Vet men's race consisted of three laps: a medium lap (ABCDFC) followed by two large laps (ABCDEDFC).

I'm including this photo of Rowan as he was the 5th person to finish in the U17/U20 race of the British Cross Challenge finishing 21 seconds behind the fastest British U17/U20 runner. As he was a U20 competitor for the British Cross Challenge, he was not competing as a U20 athlete in the Chiltern XC League.

Rowan Miell-Ingram (4302, Radley_AC) was 5th and the 5th MU20 finishing in a time of 18:19.10.
