2019-20 Oxfordshire XC League - Round 4 - Swindon

As no races are taking place at the moment, I'm creating some web pages entitled "where I was taking photos this time last year". Today, I'm looking at Round 4 of the Oxfordshire XC League. Last year's event took place on Sun Feb 2nd 2020 at Lawns Park in Swindon. The report on that event by the League's manager says "the weather was cold with strong winds to help make the already challenging conditions somewhat tougher - the conditions underfoot were ideal: muddy, greasy and very wet". This year's event was to have taken place today (Sun Feb 7th 2021). Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 it has had to be cancelled.

The Women's race was close. I was standing over half way round. When they passed me on the final lap, Sophie Lloyd (White Horse Harriers) was in front by a few seconds and then there was Roisin Browne (Cherwell_Runners_and_Joggers) being tailgated by Rebecca Duxbury (Oxford_Tri). I then turned around and got the above photo: you can see that Rebecca is now 2nd. And by the time she got to the line she had overtaken Sophie.

Sophie Lloyd (White_Horse_Harriers) was the 2nd female and the 2nd SL finishing in a time of 27:42.
