As very few races are taking place at the moment, I'm creating some web pages entitled "where I was taking photos this time last year". Today, I'm looking at the Longworth 10K which takes place from Longworth, a village that lies between the River Thames and the A420. It is about 9M SW of Oxford.
The organiser's website says "Held every year since 1998, this race is held on a multi-terrain course that starts at the east end of Longworth village, goes north to the river, follows the Thames Path National Trail westwards from new Newbridge to Shifford Lock before climbing back up to Hinton and then following a bridleway to finish in front of Longworth Manor." Last year's race took place on Sun Sep 22nd 2019 and I guess this year's race would have taken place today (Sun Sep 20th 2020). However, I guess that because of Covid-19 it has been cancelled.
I took photos at two spots (at about 0.88K and 9.2K).
I'm grateful to the local runner (who I saw during his warm-up)
as he phoned the farmer who owned the property at the first spot to get permission for me to park my car on his land.
Thanks to the farmer too!
This was very welcomed because when the runners came past I sat in the car to take the photos as it was raining hard.
I'm also grateful to the farmer at the second spot who I spoke to as he allowed me to park on his property.
I normally don't take photos on hills. However, this spot was at the top of a hill.
Even though I didn't resort to taking photos from the car at the second spot,
it was very wet for the runners and for my camera
as some of the photos show!!
As a result, some of these photos are not very good.
By the way, you can click on any of the photos on this web page to see the photo in hi-res.

The above map is taken from organiser's website.
As mentioned above
"the race
starts at the east end of Longworth village, goes north to the river, follows the Thames Path National Trail westwards from new Newbridge to Shifford Lock before climbing back up to Hinton and then following a bridleway to finish in front of Longworth Manor".

If you did the Longworth 10K in 2019 and want a reminder, then here's a link to all the photos that I took. There's a calculator on that web page that makes it easy to find the photos of a runner given their time and you can find the time from the results web page.
If you want to see the reviews I've done on other races, then here's a link to a web page that includes an index of the reviews of races.
I maintain a web page for runners that provides a list of races near Oxfordshire and the latest results. As well as a lot of postponed/cancelled races(!), it is now beginning to includes several races that plan to abide by the Covid-19 regulations. So go and visit www.oxonraces.com to see what races may take place. And if you use twitter, you may want to follow @oxonraces to become aware of important changes to this web page.
