2019 Overton 5

As very few races are taking place at the moment, I'm creating web pages entitled "where I was taking photos this time last year". Today, I'm looking at the Overton 5 which takes place from Overton which is a large village in Hampshire that is about 8M West of Basingstoke and about 4M East of the A34 at Whitchurch. It is about 45M from Oxford.

The organiser's website says "The Overton 5 is a five mile race on fully closed or traffic managed roads that show off the wonderful countryside around Overton. The start is a short 10-15 minute walk (ideal 5-9 minute warm up run) from the finish and the Race HQ." Last year's race took place on Sun Sep 1st 2019 and this year's race was to have taken place today (Sun Sep 6th 2020). Although it was postponed to Sun Oct 25th 2020, the 2020 Overton 5 has now been cancelled.

This photo was taken at about 0.7M into the 5M race. As you can see, Stuart has already built up a good lead. He finishes one minute ahead of the second runner.
