As races are not taking place at the moment, I'm creating some web pages entitled "where I was taking photos this time last year". Today, I'm looking at Mota-vation Race 5 that took place at Stratfield Brake in Kidlington.
The organiser's website says "it's a 3.92 miles approx. (off road, not certified) course". Last year's race took place on Thu Aug 29th 2019 and this year's race was to have taken place today (Thu 27th Aug 2020). Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 it has had to be cancelled.
By the way, you can click on any of the photos on this web page to see the photo in hi-res.
.
The above map is taken from the organiser's website.
I've seen this description of the course:
"the course is predominantly on mown grass, but partly on gravelled footpaths, with slightly uneven grass transitions
- overall, the course is flat - the elevation variation is a maximum of 13 feet."
As you can see from the map, it's a two lap course.
Most of the northerly part of the course is on grass around the outside of cricket grounds, rugby pitches and football pitches.
The stretch along the westerly part of the course is a track that passes some ponds belonging a nature reserve.
The stretch along the southerly part of the course is a path through grassland on lap 1
and is a track through woods on lap 2.
