2019 Mota-vation Race 4 Combe II

As races are not taking place at the moment, I'm creating some web pages entitled "where I was taking photos this time last year". Today, I'm looking at Mota-vation Race 4 - this was the second race to take place at Combe, a village that is about 11M NW of Oxford.

The organiser's website says the race is "4 miles 370 yards" long. Last year, it took place on Thursday July 25th 2019 and this year's race was to have taken place today (Thursday July 30th 2020). Unfortunately, because of the corona virus it has had to be cancelled.

The route of the race

The above map is taken from the organiser's website. As you can see, it's a two lap course. I took photos at about the 1.17M and 3.40M points. This was halfway up Bolton's Lane, the only hill on the course. I don't normally take photos on hills. However, I made an exception for this race as the strong sunlight always ruins the photos that I normally take at this race.

The race took place on a hot and humid evening - because of the high temperature the start was delayed until 8pm.

James Bolton (305, Woodstock_Harriers) was 2nd and the 1st MV40 finishing in a time of 00:22:42.
